Biography
Matt Whelihan began teaching at ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥ in 2010. Since 2014, he has served as the chair of the English department. In addition, he is a Faculty Athletic Mentor for ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥’s cross country and track and field teams.
Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in English and Communications from Fordham University, a master’s degree in English from Villanova University, and a doctoral degree in Education Policy, Organization & Leadership from the University of Illinois. Prior to joining ÃÛÌÒÖ±²¥, he worked as a freelance journalist, marketing copywriter, and high school English teacher. His journalism and fiction work can be found in publications such as The Carolina Quarterly, Slice, Hobart, Meridian, Cleveland Scene, The Free Times, and Miracle Monocle.
